Annamalai Univerisity Engineering Entrance Exam 2008 for BE and B.Sc. (Agr. & Horti.) Programmes:
The Entrance Examinations for Admission to B.E./ B.Sc.(Ag.)/ B.Sc. (Horti.) Degree Programmes of the Annamalai University for the year 2008-2009 are scheduled to be conducted by the University.
Appearing for the Entrance Examination is COMPULSORY FOR CANDIDATES seeking Admission to these Programmes. These Entrance Examinations are for the Candidates of TAMILNADU and for those who satisfy the Nativity/ Domicile requirements specified by the University for Admission to these Programmes.
This Notification relates only to the ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS. Candidates are advised to refer to separate Notification, which will be issued during Third Week of May 2008 by the University inviting Application for Admission to these programmes.
Selection to Various Programmes will be governed by the Procedures laid down by the University.

ENGINEERING: B.E. – Civil/Civil & Structural / Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Chemical Engineering/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology and Electronics & Communication.
AGRICULTURE: B.Sc. Agriculture/ B.Sc. Horticulture.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Candidates who are appearing for Higher Secondary OR Equivalent Qualifying Examinations during March – May 2008 and Candidates who have already passed H.Sc. OR Other Equivalent Qualifying Examinations are eligible to apply for these Entrance Examinations.
The Entrance Examination Scheduled and will be conducted in the following Subjects**
Paper 1: Biology (Botany & Zoology): 06.05.2008 (Forenoon)
Paper 2: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): 06.05.2008 (Afternoon)
Paper 3: Mathematics : 07.03.2008 (Forenoon)
Questions for the above Examinations will be based only on the Syllabi and Text books Prescribed for the Second year of the Tamil Nadu H.Sc. (Academic) Course
Admission will be made on the basis of Marks obtained in the relevant Subjects in the Qualifying Examination (H.Sc. OR Equivalent) and in the Entrance Examinations, with the weightage of Marks 200 and 100 respectively.

1. SC/ST CANDIDATES: RS. 200/-
2. Others: Rs.400/-
IMPORTANT DATES
Issue of Application Forms Commences from: 03.03.2008
Last Date for Issue of Application Forms: 02.04.2008
Last Date for receipt of filled in Applications Forms: 09.04.2008.
METHOD OF PAYMENT: Application forms can be obtained IN PERSON by CASH payment at the University Cash Counter on all working Days. (Holidays: All Saturday, Sunday and Other Government Holidays).
To get Application forms by POST the candidate should send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400/-(Except for SC/ST Candidates) For SC/ST candidates they have to send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- along with a Certificate as specified above. The DEMAND DRAFT should be drawn in favour of THE REGISTRAR, ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY, ANNAMALAINAGAR –608002 obtained on OR after 02.03.2008 from ANY BANK Payment at CHENNAI and a self – addressed KRAFT Envelop of Size 35 cm x 15 cm with Stamps affixed to the value of Rs.15/-.
Candidates are advised to write their Name and Address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
Application forms will be sent ONLY BY ORDINARY POST and the University will not be held responsible for non-receipt of Application forms.
NOTE: Please quote the Reference Number Roc. No.2406/K2/Advt.No.3/2008 in the top of the Request letter without fail.
