  1. For better quality of technical education at least 25% of the teaching staff must comprise of field engineers. Experience of field engineers will add new horizon to education. At least one fourth of Directors of IITs must be Engineers of higher level say Chief Engineer and above with high level of academic and professional experience.
For submission of applications for the above mentioned posts email address would have been mentioned.

  3. Director of IITs is supposed to be higher post and for such appointments working age must be up to 65 years. Appointment must be at least for a year and maximum for five years. Person with exposure as field engineer have practical experience and few of them may be Post Graduate, Ph.D. of academic taste. So there services must be utilized even after retirement. At present in Central Government and in most of the states retirement age is 60 years. Thus an engineer with academic taste can work for five years after retirement. Recently during the selection of Director AIIMS, selection committee recommended to increase the age limit beyond 60 years. The same thing may be applied in the case of Director, IIT. In my opinion age limit for such a higher post must be 64 years so that one can work at least for a year if appointed.
