National Institute of Technology Agartala, an Institute of National importance, imparting quality technical education at UG and PG level, invites applications from Indian Nationals who are exceptionally bright, brilliant and motivated with a established record on Research & Development and committed to teaching/research for faculty position at the level of
Professor, Assistant Professor and Lecturer
in the Departments of
Chemistry,
Physics,
Mathematics,
Humanities and Social Sciences,
Civil,
Computer Science and Engineering,
Electrical,
Electronics and Communication Engineering,
Mechanical,
Production and Transportation Engineering.
Professors of Central/State Government Institute who are on the verge of retirement or who have recently retired may also apply for the appointment.
Candidates who have submitted their thesis, or are likely to submit shortly, may also apply.

NIT Agartala is situated in a picturesque pollution free environment of Agartala, which is well connected by Road and Rail with other parts of the country and by 11(eleven) Flights daily with Kolkata / Delhi / Guwahati / Silchar / Imphal.
The pay package for all posts are guided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India norms, which is under revision as per the Sixth Pay Commission’s recommendations.
For deserving candidates, higher initial pay may be considered. Central Govt. reservation policy will be followed.
The retirement age of faculty members is 65 years and may be extended upto 70 years.
The last date of submission of duly filled in application form is 31st December, 2008.

Pay Scales :
Lecturer : Rs. 8000-13500/-
Assistant Professor : Rs. 12000-18300/-
Professor : Rs. 16400-22400/-
How to Apply
The filled in application should be accompanied by the appropriate fee of Rs. 300/-(Rs.150/- only in the case of SC/ST candidates on production of Caste Certificate) in the form of Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of
“The Registrar, National Institute of Technology Agartala” payable at the State Bank of India, NIT Agartala Branch, Agartala – 799 055(code-11491)
or any nationalized bank payable at Agartala.
The candidates are to send separate application and separate Demand Draft for each post, in case any candidate wishes to apply for more than one post.
The application with all its enclosures securely fastened to it should be sent by Registered Post super scribed and addressed as follows:

If any applicant desires an acknowledgement he must send the application by ‘Registered Post & Acknowledgement Due’, otherwise no separate acknowledgement will be sent.
Applications must reach the Registrar, on or before 31.12.2008.
Applications will be summarily rejected if the forms duly filled in
(a) are not received within the stipulated date
(b) are incomplete.
Persons who are in Government services or in the service of Educational Institutions or any other organizations must send their applications through their employers. If there is any procedural delay, they may send an advance copy, provided they submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer at the time of interview.
