I. ELIGIBILITY:
1. Educational Qualifications :
For Ph.D. and M.Phil.
(i). Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree in concerned discipline with a minimum of 55 percent marks in
aggregate. For SC / ST candidates the aggregate shall be 50%.
For Ph.D. programme in Management Science, candidates possessing MBA are eligible. The candidates possessing
Post Graduate qualification in any other subject with 5 years of experience in managerial capacity are also eligible.

For M.S. : Candidates must have a B.E. / B.Tech. / B. Pharmacy degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 55 percent marks in the aggregate in the concerned branch and for SC / ST candidates the aggregate shall be 50% only. M.S. is essentially a research programme for candidates in service. It is not a regular session based M.Tech. course.
EMPLOYMENT :
Candidates who are working in a well equipped Educational / Scientific / R&D / Industrial / Governmental Organisations and in Colleges affiliated to the Universities and engaged in Scientific / Technological / Engineering / Managerial activities, as the case may be, are eligible for admission as external candidates and shall continue to work in their own organizations. Faculty members of the J.N.T. University Hyderabad and its constituent colleges shall be admitted as internal candidates.
Candidates working in colleges affiliated to the universities are eligible, provided
the place of research work is either the institution in which they are working or the constituent college / unit of the university, where necessary facilities are available.
The Research Supervisor is either from JNT University Hyderabad or from any recognized institution / organisation.
SUPERVISOR :
Candidates for admission must identify and obtain the consent of Supervisor(s), possessing the necessary qualifications for supervising.
Professors, Asso. Professors and Asst. Professor of JNT University Hyderabad who possess, a Ph.D. degree, a minimum of five years of academic / research experience and published atleast 2 referred Journal papers and 2 reviewed Conference papers, to their credit, will be deemed as Internal Supervisors.
Persons working in Educational / Scientific / Industrial / Governmental Organisations, who possess a Ph.D. degree, a minimum of five years of academic / research experience and published atleast 2 referred Journal papers and 2 reviewed Conference papers, to their credit, will be deemed as external supervisors.
Candidates may have either Internal or External Supervisors.
In the case of interdisciplinary areas of research, a co-supervisor may also be permitted in addition to the supervisor, provided the supervisor and co-supervisor are from different disciplines.
Candidate must enclose biodata of the proposed supervisor(s) and evidence to show that he/she satisfies the qualifications laid down. They must enclose attested copies of the degree certificates of the supervisor(s).
PLAN OF RESEARCH WORK :
Candidates must submit, along with their application form, a well conceived plan of research work, with evidence of having initiated a preliminary study (at least 500 words).
PLACE OF RESEARCH WORK AND FACILITIES AVAILABLE:
In the case of external candidates, working in their organizations, details regarding the availability of the required research facilities at the place of work must be given. The place of work must be recognised by the University before the application for admission is considered.
External candidates working in their own organizations must produce, from the Head of the Organisation, a Certificate of “No Objection” for the candidate to take up the Research work, and permission for the supervisor from the university to visit the organization periodically to monitor and assess the work of the candidate.
VI. MODE OF SELECTION : Based on objective type entrance test and / or interview.
Incase of necessity an entrance test may be conducted and eligible candidates must first appear for a one hour Entrance Test to be conducted by the University at Hyderabad at their own cost. The date and time of the Entrance Test will be intimated to the eligible candidates and details will be displayed in JNTUH website www.jntuh.ac.in.
Candidates must collect their Hall Tickets, from the Director, Admissions, JNT University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad one day prior to the examination and no further correspondence will be made in this matter.
VII. Candidates who are qualified in Entrance Test must appear before the admission committee for an interview at Hyderabad at their own cost. The date and time of interview will be intimated to the candidate as well as displayed in JNTUH website www.jntuh.ac.in.
The University reserves the right to cancel admission / registration of any candidate to the research programme at any stage if it is noticed that the data furnished / certificates enclosed are incorrect.
In case of any disputes concerning admissions to the courses of JNT University Hyderabad, the jurisdiction shall remain with the Courts or Consumer forum in Hyderabad only.
FEE :
On selection for admission, candidates shall be required to pay the prescribed admission fee Rs. 200/- and the Registration fee of Rs. 20,000/- per annum. Thereafter the fee has to be paid every semester till the successful completion of the programme and submission of thesis or cancellation of the admission which ever the case may be.
NON-PAYMENT OF THE PRESCRIBED FEE IN TIME MAY LEAD TO THE CANCELLATION OF
ADMISSION. (31st July for spring semester and 31st January for Autumn semester )
The candidates have to pass the Pre-Research Degree examination in two subjects specified by the University. After passing the Pre- Research Degree examination and completion of two years from the date of admission, the candidates may submit their synopsis and thesis. If the thesis is not submitted within a period of five years from the date of admission, the admission shall stand cancelled.
IX. GENERAL :
Application complete in all respects (in A4 size) accompanied with a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of “THE REGISTRAR, JNTUH, HYDERABAD” payable at Hyderabad on any nationalized bank as Application Registration fee and three self addressed stamped envelopes of size 22 x 10 cms. (affixing Rs.5.00 stamps), is to be submitted to “The Director, Admissions, JNT University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad – 500 085” either in person or by Registered post / Courier on or before 04. 02. 2009 by 4.00 pm.
The University is not responsible for delay or loss of application in transit.
Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date will not be considered and fee paid will not be refunded.

Don’t take admission in JNTU. The objective of the university is to earn the money.
Most of the students taken admission in Ph.D in pharmacy have withdrawn there registration because university has failed more than 80 % of students in Pre-Ph.D examination.

It has been a horrifying experience to go to the university and seek clarifications on the part-time Ph.D program. The head of dept. has no clarity on the subject ( for example he is not aware if service management is IT or a Management Subject). After travelling from Banaglore on leave I spent the whole day waiting for Prof.Ayra sri to let me mention my research interest and his opinion. After a lot of deliberation he has confirmed that he or his team members would not sign the application form. While his decision could be right, as a research aspirant, I fail to understand why he had to waste my whole day chatting about bangalore properties near international airport and blah blah to finally spoil my research plans at the university where I graduated. It would truly take ages for JNTU to come back to the old glory it was known for. Please do not look at the university for any research work ( unless you are lucky to get associated with one of those few Gurus who bring value to the academics.oops..Sorry sir, I’m not referring to you Prof. Aryasri.)
Prof. Aryasri has to realise that every individual more so after a few year of experience deserves to be respected no matter whether he has the privilege for research. I had attended interview in JULY 2009 for Part timr PhD in Pharmacy. But unfortunately it was worst interview I had ever faced in my life from your side. Questions were very silly and out of three interviewer one was continuously talking on his cell. And in case of my friend out of three two interviewer gone for tea break and only single person has taken the interview of 10-15 students.If one was capable to take interview then for what purpose two other people were their. I know you will not do anything but atleast dont waste time, money and energy of students.

If you are seeking admission in JNTU part time Ph.D, then think thrice regarding the Pre-Ph.D exam, which you have eligible to write after one year of admission. Recently Pre-Ph.D examination result of june 2009 is 14.77%.
If you don’t qualify you will lose Rs.24,000/- per year and your admission will be cancelled automatically after three attempts.

here in JNTU they suck ur money. In the name of exam they disturb ur heath. I am writing the paper for the 3rd time. I have stuck up here.
I am a author of pharmaceutical book. do u think i ll not have knowledge of the subject. What a nanscence it is.
Thay failed sucessfully by giving 48 and 49 for two times. And every reseacher in JNTU knows how intentional they are.
U see the R and D section and meet how he talks. He will say get out you and talk only on money. very shroud they are.
My health has gone to dogs. I am suffuring with terrific neuronal problems anbd hypertention.
Do you think. Nobody out of 500 students has scored more then 60 marks. and the people who have passed is just at 50 (90%)

Don’t be fool by taking admission in Ph.D in JNTU. In JNTU only 10 percent ph.d students will be awarded, because of objection filed by other universities under all India universities association. They will take your admission first by simple entrance test, but later on in Pre-Ph.D examination they will fail you either in one paper or other paper. Further if you pass, then they will reject your work and permit to work again which will require 5-6 years atleast.
Hope you understood else ask any Ph.D student of JNTU.
DONT TAKE PH.D ADMISSION IN JNTU. BECAUSE AS PER ALL INDIA ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES THEY CAN’T GRANT NOT MORE THAN 100 PH.D PER YEAR.
THESE TOTAL 100 STUDENTS INCLUDES FROM ENGG (40), CHEMICAL (5), PHARMACY (30), MATHEMATICS (5),BIOTECHNOLOGY (10) AND ENGLISH AND OTHER (10).
TOTAL NO OF PH.D STUDENTS ADMITTED DURING 2009-10 IS 1007 ( one thousand and seven only) FROM VARIOUS FIELDS. SO FROM THESE ONLY 107 WILL BE PH.D AWARDED AFTER 5 YEARS. REST OF THEM WILL BE MADE TO FAIL IN PRE-PH.D EXAM, REJECTION OF PH.D WORK, PUBLICATION IN IMPACTLESS JOURNALS, ETC.
ANNUAL FEE IS RS. 20,000/-
They will taken entrance test for admission. Some how they will admit you. After one year of admission you require to pass Pre-Ph.D examination and its result will be displayed after six months. Two time annually pre-phd examination will be conducted. You require to pass this pre-phd exam in 3 attempts only else your admission will be cancelled automatically.
This three attempt requires 3 years. So the total fee will be Rs.60,000/- apart from examination fee of Rs. 2,000/- per attempt.
Pre-Ph.D examination passing percentage is 15% in 2009, 10% in 2008, 10% in 2007.
So fee receive by JNTU only from one batch of 1007 students is
20,000 X 1007 = Rs. 20,14,0000 ( 2 crore).
From all the previous Ph.D batches amount will be 10 Crores.
SO BE WARE OF SUCH MONEY MAKING UNIVERSITIES. FURTHER YOU CAN CROSS CHECK FROM WEBSITE JNTU.AC.IN AND FROM THE ADMITTED STUDENTS.

Objective of JNTU university is to earn.
Please dont take admission in JNTU. Pre-Ph.D exam has to be appeared after one year of admission. Pre-Ph.D exam passing percentage is only 10-15 percent.
