Junior Engineering Assistant posts in Indian Oil Corporation Limited

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria for the under mentioned Junior Engineering Assistant posts at Haldia Refinery in the pay scale of Rs 5400-10850(Due for revision).

1 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (Prodn) Production 35 (UR-15, SC-10, ST-02, OBC-08)

2 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (P&U) Mechanical 6 (UR-03, SC-01, OBC-02)

3 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (Elect) Electrical 5 (UR-03, SC-01, OBC-01)

4 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (F&S) Fire & Safety 3 (UR-01, EXSM-01, OBC-01)

Note: All the above mentioned posts are operated in round the clock rotating shifts.

Qualification & Experience:
The prescribed qualification from Govt. recognized Indian university/Institute as a regular student and the required minimum post qualification experience as on 30/06/2009 for each post is given below.

1 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (Prodn)
B.Sc. (Phy., Chem/ Industrial Chemistry & Maths) or 3 years Dip. in
chemical Engg.

One year experience in the operation of continuous chemical process plants in fertilizer/ Hydrocarbon
sector.

2 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (P&U)
B.Sc. (Phy., Chem. & Maths.) or 3 years Dip. in Mechanical Engg.

One year experience in Power Plant Operation (GT/Steam Turbine) including Raw/ DM Water Treatment Plant / Air Compressor handling.

3 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (Elect)
3 years Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

One year experience in maintenance and repair of electrical equipments used in chemical process plants in Fertilizer / Hydrocarbon Sector.

4 Jr. Engg. Asstt-IV (F&S)
Matric (preferably B.Sc. with Phy., Chem & Maths) with Sub- Officer’s course from

NFSC- Nagpur or any equivalent course of same duration with HMV Licence.

Two years experience in Fire Service in Petroleum / Petrochemical / Fertilizer or other Industries.

• The above posts carry other allowances / benefits as admissible under the rules of the
Corporation.

• The prescribed period of Apprenticeship training under Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprentices
(Amendment) Act 1973 in the relevant discipline and functional areas if completed successfully,
shall be treated as experience.

• AGE LIMIT:
Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years as on 30/06/2009 (Relaxable by 5 years
for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates for the posts reserved for them). Age relaxation
applicable for Ex-Serviceman/PH as per Govt. directives.

• SC/ST/PH candidates appearing for written test / interview shall be reimbursed second class
rail/bus fare by the shortest route as per rules on production of tickets.

• Applicants from Govt./Semi Govt./PSU must apply through proper channel.

• The period of experience/Qualification will be determined as on 30/06/2009.

• Applications without supporting documents/incomplete/not fulfilling the prescribed criteria in
any respect are liable to be rejected.

• Selection Methodology: Selection would be based on written test / trade test and personal
interview. The candidates will have to pass successfully through each stage of the selection
process including medical fitness for being adjudged suitable for selection.

• Candidates except SC/ST/PH/EXSM categories should enclose a crossed D/D of Rs.100/- (Rs. One
hundred only) as application fee (non-refundable) in favour of

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. payable at SBI, Haldia Refinery Campus Branch. (Branch Code: 7090).

Candidates must write their full name and address on reverse of Demand Draft.

• One candidate can apply for one post only. Candidates applying for more than one post will not
be considered.

• Filling up of vacancies is solely at the discretion of the management based on suitability of candidates and no claim will arise for appointment, if vacancies are not filled due to
unsuitability/insufficient number of candidates.
