Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) invites applications for centralised recruitment to the post of Assiatant / Junior Assistant.

ISRO is looking for young, dynamic and dedicated administrative staff in the Pay Band of Rs.5200-20200/- along with Grade Pay of Rs.2,400/- for Centres/Units across India for supporting the Scientists/Engineers in their challenging tasks ahead and realizing the goals

Age Limit : 26 years  on 07-08-2009 (31 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 29 years for OBC candidates. Ex-Serviceman and Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Govt. of India orders.)

How to Apply : The application for on-line registration will be hosted in the ISRO web-site between 18.07.2009 and 07.08.2009. Candidates may visit www.isro.gov.in to register their applications on-line between 18.07.2009 and 07.08.2009. Applications will be received on-line only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. The on-line application should be invariably followed-up with a `No Objection Certificate’ from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, duly indicating the name and Reg. No. on the reverse.

Payment of Application fee : There will be an Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) for each application. After registration of application on-line, the candidates have to down-load and print he personalized payment challan form from the ISRO system which will contain the Name of the candidate, Registration Number, Receipt Account Number, Advertisement No., Post No. and Post Code. The candidates have to visit the nearest branches of State Bank of India for remittance of application fee to Receipt Account No.30780921723 by using the personalized payment challan of State Bank of India on any day between 18.07.2009 and 11.08.2009. The candidates may down-load and print the personalized payment challan from the ISRO system on any day between 18.07.2009 and 07.08.2009. The Banker’s charges of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty Only) to be borne by the candidates only. The candidates who are unable to down-load and print the personalized payment challan from ISRO website, may visit the nearest State Bank of India branch and fill-up the challan form giving all required details such as Name, Registration No., Receipt Account Number, Advertisement No., Post No. and Post code and remit the application fee. The payment shall be made through cash deposit only. Payment of Application Fee in any other form like Cheque, Draft, Money Order, IPO, etc. are not allowed. Applications in respect of candidates who have not remitted the application fee before 11.08.2009 will not be considered for further processing..

Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee. However, SC/ST and PWD candidates will have to send attested Caste Certificate and/or Medical Certificate of Board respectively by post to Administrative Officer (ICRB) duly indicating the Name, Post No. and Reg.No. on the reverse. Applications of candidates claiming SC/ST/PWD status and therefore exemption from Application Fee will be considered only if the duly attested Caste Certificate/Medical Certificate is received. The Caste Certificate/Medical Certificate and `No Objection Certificate’ in respect of candidates employed under Central/State Govt/PSU/Autonomous Body should reach ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore within seven days of filing the applications by the candidates and in any case not later than 14.08.2009. Further the candidates claiming relaxations applicable to meritorious sports persons should send the copies of merit certificates issued by the authorities, as per Government of India orders, to Administrative Officer (ICRB), ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore on or before 14.08.2009, failing which the relaxation will not be extended to them.

Selection Process : The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test. The written test will be conducted at six venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Sriharikota and Thiruvananthapuram. Candidates short-listed based on the performance in the written test /skill test (wherever applicable) will be called for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be intimated later.

Pay and Allowances : The gross emoluments in the minimum of scale will at present be approximately Rs.12,100/- p.m.. In addition, employees are also eligible for allowances like HRA, Transport Allowance etc. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. The Organisation provides for excellent growth potential for the right individuals through its performance review system which ensures that a good performer gets the promotion. ISRO provides free transport [or in lieu transport allowance], limited housing facility for fresh entrants [or in lieu HRA], advances for purchase of conveyance, construction of house, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance etc. ISRO also provides attractive medical benefits to its employees called “Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS)” by which the employees as well as dependent family members will be covered by the medical scheme. ISRO is extending subsidized canteen facilities to its employees.

Other Conditions/Instructions :

  1. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
  2. The appointees are liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required. For details of ISRO Centres/Units, please visit http://www.isro.gov.in/isro_centres.htm
  3. Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their applications submitted on-line, at the time of interview. If any information furnished on-line is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid.
  4. No TA will be paid for attending the written test
  5. ISRO reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts, if it so desires.
  6. Only Indian nationals need apply
  7. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
  8. In case of any clarification candidates may send their mail to icrb@isro.gov.in.
  9. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION.
